The evolution of streaming devices

Our TV will undoubtedly be wise, sometime. Using a picture of the hand or a voice-command, couch-potatoes can binge-viewpoint "Scandal" or youngsters may see any instalment of the Disney show "Dog Using a Blog." Possibly simply considering Walt White brings up "Breaking Bad" to the big-screen.

However, for the time being, many video are stupid. They do a sufficient career managing the signs arriving via an aerial or a set top package, except to benefit from the abundance of scheduling accessible through web-based services and apps, you usually should install a loading apparatus to it.

They are similar to portal sites to some similar world of tv scheduling, one that is certainly becoming larger on a regular basis. They offer accessibility to all the installments of the Emmy-selected "House of Cards" and stockpiles of eternal black and white pictures, courtesy of loading providers like Netflix.com and Hulu.com, as well as being to the Internet humors and never-ending virus-like movies on youtube.com. In 2013, Netflix.com mentioned the growth of those devices -- "low-priced intelligent Television plugs," it called them -- when it forecasted that on demand and cell Television might change the old, planned manner of viewing displays.

The corporation additionally said that "smart Television revenue are rising and finally every device may have WiFi and apps." Lots of the brand new models on exhibit at Wal-Mart and Bestbuy.com currently do. But until all video get wise, it drops around the shells of those buffering apparatuses -- many of those useful, but do not require however best -- to enable a Television dunk a wire in the long run.

THE Players Countless Americans have an apparatus attached to your LCD or Plasma Screen. Microsoft Xbox, Sony ps and Wii gaming units provide loading movie choices and therefore are one of the most famous strategies to utilize Web TV.

Using a couple simple clicks, the games consoles may obtain apps for providers like Netflix and Amazon Prompt Movie. Installing them is free, but several want a compensated membership to really supply movie. (A X box additionally wants a membership to the X box Stay support for usage of its own Web software.)

The games consoles' controls make browsing through listings of TELEVISION programmes very simple. Just in case it isn't on among the loading solutions, with the Play Station and X box, there's also the choice of shopping for someone occurrence or period of a show-through the X box Movie Shop or the ps Shop.

THE BEAMERS An issue together with the gambling apparatuses is they often have two or three moments as well up. (With all the movie accessible, period is of the substance. All things considered, you'll find countless hrs of "The Strolling Dead" to catch-up on.) Which is not true having a few other well-known choices, including Appletv and Google's Chromecast, that also can broadcast movies from a telephone number or notebook computer to the TELEVISION display.

Why "beam"? You could begin viewing a youtube.com video on your iPhone and determine that you need to reveal it to your fam -- if so, you'd click a switch on a smart mobile and supply it about the TELEVISION established. Or you may be interested in a concert loading go on youtube.com. On a notebook computer you'll find the live flow and shove that to the big-screen.

The title could be deceptive, with regards to Appletv, likely the strongest of the apparatuses. It isn't a video or a cable station or the full-lost rival to Netflix.com. Instead, it's a slick black-box, formed as a hockey puck, which attaches to your TELEVISION set. Unsurprisingly, provided Apple's preference for style, Appletv is just about the many enticing of all Internet-Tv plugs out there.

Apple encourages the apparatus's money99 cost, but it really is truly pricier -- you must purchase a HDMI transmission line for connecting the carton to the rear of your Video. As well as the apparatus's air-play broadcasting perform operates simply with Apple mobiles, tablet PCS and computers, therefore it's never as interesting if you're perhaps not in the Apple family currently.

The newest mode to "broadcast" comes from Google's money3 5 Chromecast, which appears such as a memory stick and plugs into an HDMI interface on your own TV. Making use of your house wifi, it'll project around it whatever you happen to be viewing on your cell apparatus or pc. Android Os, Apple and Ms Windows apparatuses are encouraged here.

But Chromecast doesn't have movie apps just how Apple-Tv or the gaming units do. Therefore locating Television attacks or pictures is entirely completed about the cellular apparatus or notebook computer used, that may make Chromecast sense overly rigid.

About one other conclusion with this plug in range are cartons just like the Roku, that you can get online for less than money40, as well as the marginally pricier WD Television Perform from American Electronic. These cartons have apps galore, also for buffering solutions you've never learned of. Nevertheless, the Roku, the best-known with this group, is only starting allow broadcasting from many other monitors.

You will find unquestionably more of those cartons to come back -- Amazon is supposed to possess one in the functions, by way of example.

THE ONGOING Future Of class, really smart video with Web connectivity may progressively eliminate the requirement for unique plugs. In the interim,, the plugs will be the very best windowpane to the tv revolution.

After having some time with Netflix.com via Appletv or youtube.com via X box or Hulu.com via Chromecast, you may question why anybody pays for cable or satellite tv anymore?

However, the truth is that lots of the top, freshest SHOWS and movies remain shielded behind cable's large partitions. Every one of evidence so far indicates that for many people Web channels certainly are a nutritional supplement to cable, maybe not an alternative. But they're an extremely helpful nutritional supplement -- they supply benefit as well as an atmosphere of manage that cable can't presently fit.

Shortly our description of the extremely term "cable" might shift: Mdr-V6, Intel, Yahoo along with other businesses have an interest in promoting a cablelike bundle of stations through the web, difficult incumbents like Comcast and Time Warner Cable. Apple looks having another finish, collaborating with these incumbents to help it become easier for spectators to view Video by themselves conditions.

For at this time it could be better to consider loading apparatuses as Trojan horses for the engineering leaders that produce them Yahoo, Apple, Ms and Amazon all need to make Television better, and they certainly are a beginning.

Working unsigned signal on several Roku media-streaming devices

Individuals are coughing loading press apparatuses such as Appletv, Yahoo Television, Chromecast forever by obtaining entry to main authorizations and installing third-party apps that wouldn't otherwise be reinforced.

Today it's Roku's change.

Roku makes several of the most famous apparatuses for buffering web articles into a video, however, the built in applications is really safe, that's exactly why it's obtained years for hackers uncover great way to root the apparatuses.

The peoples at GTVHacker have located a means in today. Roku lately rolled-out a pc software revise using a protection exploit that permits users to choose "temporary" main management. Meaning when you restart the unit root access is lost by you.

But on several older Roku versions, the short-term main technique has supplied an entrance point for "unrelenting" main.

More details can be found by you at the GTVHacker wiki and website.

Today there's not substantially that nonchalant consumers can-do with main entry. Yet this shift paves the way in which for third-party apps like XBMC to run using Roku's low-priced media-streaming apparatuses.

The newer 3rd-generation Roku apparatuses aren't supportedand never not only will you not be competent to hold onto origin after rebooting your apparatus, but you won't be competent to block automatic software which might take away remove the susceptibility.

How to stream music and video to Xbox One

After a long wait, Xbox one is finally out! Lucky me I got this amazing device one day after it's release and I have spent some time on it learning about all it's features. Playing around with the apps I noticed that it was lacking of some stuff that was really useful on Xbox 360 like the ability to use windows media center extender. This is something that I would definitely need since I used to stream Xbox apps form media player library. This is why I started to dig deep on the new features ofXbox One Console. So here's a simple way of setting the unit so you can stream your music or videos using DLNA:

1.- Connect your Xbox One to the same network that you are using for your Media Library. (This is really important cause you'll need to link your systems in order for them to work.

2.- You want to make sure that you have Media Streaming enabled in your Xbox Settings. (Settings>Preferences>Allow Play to Streaming) Normally this setting comes as a default but in case it doesn't, just check it.

3.- On your windows device (laptop or desktop) go to control panel and open the "Devices and Printers" option. Once there, click on "add a service" and choose your Xbox unit (you must see it if it is connected to the same network).

4.- Whenever you want to play any file, right click on it and select "play to" then choose your Xbox unit.

5.- Enjoy!

Note: Please keep in mind that Xbox One will only support AVI, MP4, WMV formats. If you are trying to play any other file it is possible that it won't work.

Note2: If you are trying to stream music from your phone, make sure that you have the correct app installed since android doesn't have any default setting for this.

Note 3: If you are facing problems like Xbox One not showing on the "Play to" drop down menu then you may need to start the media player on the Xbox One unit and while it's running, go to your Microsoft Media Player and select the movie or video that you want to play. Now you will be able to see the unit within the options.

It's kind of crazy that Xbox One has all this strange settings. Anyways, I hope this post can be useful for you.

Panasonic DMP-MS10 Smart Network Media Streaming Player with Built-In Wi-Fi

Hi Guys,

I'm back with another post about the best streaming devices available today. This time I will tak about a great streaming device from Panasonic. The Panasonic DMP-MS10 Smart Network Media Streaming Player with Built-In Wi-Fi.This device is really great and it has a lot of features that I will describe below:

This device comes with Miracast that will allow you to stream movies, images and music from any Android source to any TV set. It has a built in browser that will allow you to search for any content online (movies, tv shows and many more). This device will also connect with the major streaming service providers such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon, HBO Go and many others. This amazing device has also a great feature: "2D to 3D" converter. Yes, you will be able to watch films in 3D mode and have the same experience as in a theater.

If you want to buy this device, please click on the image.

This equipment has a complete DLNA functionality. You can access your home network from it and stream your pictures, music and more (You will need windows 7 or above).

Pros: It is inexpensive and compact.
Cons: Some people have mentioned that there's poor documentation (therefore they are having problems setting this device up). For those guys let me help you with it, here's the Manual and if you are kind of lazy to read it (let's face it, almost anyone read a manual in their entire life!). Here's a video that might help.

Hope this post will be helpful

Stream motors: How to pick between Roku, Google Chromecast and Apple TV.

If you are tempted to hit "buy now" button, maybe you should wait a little bit before doing something that you might regret in the future. Here's why:

Confident, it is possible to stream Netflix on your laptop computer or maybe tablet. Nevertheless if you've got a large monitorTV SETwaiting for you, odds are you want to use it. Which is in when streaming TV systems take place making it lifeless an easy task to steady stream any online video (movie, tv show etc.) right to your living room screen.

So here´s my humble comparison chart:

Google Chromecast

General features: It will stream video to your TV screen from your computer (lap or desktop), tablet or phone. Good thing about this stuff is that you can use your smart phone or tablet as the remote control (yeah this is important cause I don't see myself getting up from my comfortable couch to change the movie or start CC).

Pros: Video quality (1080 HD) support. Just like the other devices, Chromecast can support 1080 videos which makes it a good piece of equipment. Price is awesome (35 to 39 bucks depending on where you buy it but best price I've seen is here). It is a very easy to use device and it has a big list of streaming services like: Redbull tv. Avia, Realplayer Cloud, VEVO, Hulu Plus, HBO Go, Netflix, Youtube and of course, Google Play.

-Hey Oscar and what about radio? - I knew that you were going to ask. This little device will stream Pandora, Spotify, Google Play Music and many more.

Cons: Despite Chromecast comes with a big list of streaming services, it is still limited in comparison with Roku and Apple TV. Some services are not yet available for this device (hopefully they will in the future). Another con (only for people without a smartphone) this device doesn't come with a remote control. So yes, if you don't have a smartphone, you will be standing up.

Apple TV

What can I say about this wonderful device. Well first of all it is Apple! (yeas, I'm a big Mac fan) It will play videos from Internet, ITunes library, Apple Store etc. It can also be used to show your mac screen on your TV as well as Iphones, Ipods and Ipads using Air extreme.

Pros: It has both WIFI and Ethernet options (which is good if you want to keep speed) also it can be mounted on your TV with this.It also offers a bigger list of streaming services that includes Disney Channel, PBS, NBA, NFL, NHL (for sports lovers), it comes with every single feature of Itunes so you can access ITunes radio.

Cons: Same cons as Chromecast (the streaming services list is not that big yet). However I don't see a lot of people using all possible channels online (but that's my opinion) if you love to watch stuff on the Internet, maybe this one isn't for you.

Roku 2

As I stated on my last post, Roku 2 is one of the best options for the price. It's just 80 bucks and it has many interesting features that will influence your buying trends. It has a big list of streaming devices (1000 + as I can recall). Which I think it's too many for me but who am I to tell you this right?

Pros: Devices comes with a very large list of streaming sources that will get you nuts! Seriously, there are so many options that you will need to spend weeks to see them all. It has a remote control with headphones jack so you can listen to your favorite shows without disturbing anyone. Remote has built-in buttons for Netflix, Amazon, Blockbuster and MGo.

Cons: No Ethernet so you will need WIFI at home. MGo is Roku's brand so you will see it in every single search you perform and there is no way to filter it.

Stay tuned!

Roku LT

If you are searching for another option (cheap and nice) you definitely need to take a look to the latest Roku LT System . One of the wonderful things about Roku is that it has already 1000+ channels to watch right away. This little device has both a nice design and functionality. It can stream high definition (HD) quality videos (up to 720 p) and you can control everything up from your remote. Yes, this nice device comes with a remote control which can be programmed with shortcuts to jump straight to your favorite networks such as Pandora, Crackle, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon instant video, Vudu and many more. Also, you can download the remote app and use your smartphone as the main remote control. Awesome right? Absoulutely!

This device doesn't need any computer to work. It is a standalone device with it's own software running for you. Price is not too expensive cause you can find it from 49 bucks at Amazonor at Roku's main site. There are other levels for Roku Devices since Roku LT is an entry level. Here are the details:

Roku 1 (around 59 bucks): The difference between Roku LT and Roku 1 is basically that Roku 1 has the capability of streaming 1080p video. This can be really useful if you are streaming your videos to an HD screen. Quality is better in both image and sound.

Roku2 (around 79 bucks): It has basically the same features than Roku 1 but it also includes a remote with a headphone jack (I'm not pretty sure about the benefit of having a remote that support headphones) I guess you can listen to your movies this way but this doen't work for me (I love to watch movies with my girl). But if you are an isolated person who loves loneliness then this could be a great purchase.

Roku 3 (around 89 bucks): This one can be called Roku 2 reloaded. Besides all features available for it's little brothers, Roku  3 have also a motion control for video games (it comes with angry birds). It has a faster processor (5 times faster) and it has an SD slot. (not sure about this one cause I see no use at all). However, It's you who are buying the Roku device and if you find the SD card feature something to value while purchasing then, go for it.

That's it, see you next time.

Google Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Player

Hi there,

I wanted to start this blog since I love movies and TV shows and I think that Internet can be a great place to watch them. However I came across with many different possibilities to stream my favorite shows and movies so I decided to talk a little bit more about them.

Since I rather watch my shows on a regular screen, I wanted to have the best streaming media player possible. I have used expensive devices such as PS3 or Xbox 360 to stream Netflix, Hulu or Amazon prime services. However, not everybody has the budget to buy this kind of devices and actually I think that it would be really stupid to do it since they were meant to serve differently. When I bought the PS3, I was planning to sell it right away and earn some bucks (I bought it really cheap) then I found out that it had Netflix installed so I started using it as a media player (this is the worst way of using an expensive device like that). I used it until a friend of mine bought it from me. So I started some research about good devices and I found one that actually met my expectations:Google Chromecast HDMI Streaming Media Player which I believe is one of the best streaming options out there. It is really cheap (like 30 bucks) and it works pretty well.

Now, don't get confused. This device won't work by itself. You will need a computer to send the information to the Chromecast key. Actually, you will have to download an app from Google's app store and install it on your computer (an addon for Chrome). Then you can stream your movies or shows to your favorite TV. This is something that I found really useful. In my case, I have my computer at the studio, and I have 3 screens (main bedroom, living room and TV room). I can choose where I want to stream my shows.  This is really awesome if you have kids because you can send the signal from your main computer so they can watch any cartoon or whatever they like and you can keep working on your computer without having to watch what the computer is streaming (cause actually, Chromecast will do it). This is how Chromecast key looks like:

This device will be inserted to the HDMI port of your screen. You will see a flashing light (meaning that it is receiving or transmitting data). Now you are all setup for this stuff. Chromecast is one of the easiest ways to watch movies, TV shows, or even Youtube videos. If you have hired services like HBO Go, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Google Play  or any other movie and TV show streaming service then you can run it through this tiny device. (Actually, it looks like a small USB drive). Amazon is not supported by this device yet (I think they are working it out to make it possible but there's no due date yet). Also, you can use Chromecast to stream audio like Pandora or Spotify (this will depend entirely on your audio unit cause it will need an HDMI port as well). You can use both Mac or PC to send information to the device.

As far as I can tell, Chromecast works pretty fine with no latency or any other sync problems. If you ask me, I will give it a 5 star review but you may say "and who the hell are you?" so I invite you to test it by yourselves. In the end it is just 30 bucks.

I'll keep you posted about other devices so keep around. Thanks for reading this first post (I hope I can write another 100 more at least).
